Skin Treatment Aftercare
Immediately after treatment, there may be a burning sensation. This will usually resolve during the remainder of the day although if it is particularly uncomfortable or persists for a longer period, then an anti-inflammatory medication such as naproxen or ibuprofen can be taken.
If you have had any procedure work done around the eyes—Following treatment, it is normal to have some swelling. This can be significant around the eyes and can last for several days and may lead to interference with vision in the initial period. Cold compresses may be applied to reduce the swelling. If the swelling is more severe, an anti-inflammatory medication and/or anti-histamine may help alleviate the swelling. It may up a week to completely disappear. It is essential to not pick at this crusting as this may lead to infection or scarring.
Occasionally the treated area may become a little weepy, this is part of the normal healing process and will improve with time. However, if it starts to become hot or red or if there is any pus present, then please contact the clinic for advice as this may suggest an infection has developed. Do not use alcohol based cleansers.
Day 1-2
-Keep area DRY. For swelling with eye procedure applying a DRY cold compress can soothe
and help with swelling
-Do not pick, rub or scratch the area. Itching redness and swelling are to be expected.
Day 3-5
-Clean area with gentle foaming PH balanced soap(ie Dove) rinse with cool clean water and pat
gently to dry
-Apply Once Daily application of PURE aloe vera gel . Keep all Drugstore related
harsh commercial cleansers AWAY from treatment area. Many contain Alcohol which will
burn and inhibit proper healing .
-NO—picking/makeup/swimming/sunbeds.
Day 5-60 days
-Once crusts and flake shed off please apply the Microbalm ointment as instructed.
-Once Daily application of PURE aloe vera gel and PURE vitamins E. Keep all Drugstore related
harsh commercial cleansers AWAY from treatment area. Many contain Alcohol which will
burn and inhibit proper healing .
-Cleanse with gentle non abrasive soap and clean cool water pat dry gently.
-Please use sunblock when outside
-Makeup can be applied when the crusts in the treatment area have been shed off(5-8 days).
Please be gentle and apply a NEW mineral based makeup in the area.
